It premiered posthumously at the Theatre of Dionysus in BC as part of a tetralogy that also included Iphigeneia at Aulis and Alcmaeon in Corinth , and which Euripides' son or nephew is assumed to have directed. The tragedy is based on the Greek myth of King Pentheus of Thebes and his mother Agave , and their punishment by the god Dionysus who is Pentheus's cousin. The god Dionysus appears at the beginning of the play and proclaims that he has arrived in Thebes to avenge the slander, which has been repeated by his aunts, that he is not the son of Zeus. In response, he intends to introduce Dionysian rites into the city, and he intends to demonstrate to the king, Pentheus, and to Thebes that he was indeed born a god. The Bacchae is considered to be not only one of Euripides's greatest tragedies, but also one of the greatest ever written, modern or ancient.

Contact lenses are ocular prosthetic devices used by over million people worldwide, and they can be worn to correct vision or for cosmetic or therapeutic reasons. People choose to wear contact lenses for many reasons. When compared with spectacles, contact lenses typically provide better peripheral vision , and do not collect moisture from rain, snow, condensation, etc. This can make them preferable for sports and other outdoor activities.

One of the 20th century's most influential philosophers of science , Popper is known for his rejection of the classical inductivist views on the scientific method in favour of empirical falsification. According to Popper, a theory in the empirical sciences can never be proven, but it can be falsified, meaning that it can and should be scrutinised with decisive experiments. Popper was opposed to the classical justificationist account of knowledge, which he replaced with critical rationalism , namely "the first non-justificational philosophy of criticism in the history of philosophy". In political discourse, he is known for his vigorous defence of liberal democracy and the principles of social criticism that he believed made a flourishing open society possible. Karl Popper was born in Vienna then in Austria-Hungary in to upper-middle-class parents.
