After a lifetime of considering various healthcare professions, and a visit to a thought provoking dentist, I finally had an answer to what kind of healthcare professional I wanted to be. Dentistry was the answer. Initially, I thought the hours appeared great, the work itself seemed manageable, and the profession was one that could provide for my small family. Little did I know how much I would absolutely fall in love with this career.

There are a lot of advantages of becoming a dentist that I really love about this career. Health care includes some unusually well-paid professions, but those high salaries come with a price tag. Becoming a doctor or a dentist requires a significant investment in time and tuition costs. For example, a dentist ordinarily requires eight years of university education. Dentists who choose to specialize in an area such as periodontics require an additional one or two years in clinical training. Graduate from high school, with course selections leaning strongly to the sciences.
Even after the braces are put on their patients, dentists are required to check up on them often to make sure they are doing what they are supposed to be doing. Another career I will be researching is Kindergarten teaching because I enjoy being around small children and have much patience in dealing with their problems.
