General Description The Electric Guitar is a stringed musical instrument that consist of 6 to 12 strings. The electric guitar produces a variety of sounds ranging from sweet soft melodies to aggressive anger filled music. The strings of the guitar are plucked, and pressed into the fret board to produce a sound which is then transferred to an amplifier. The amplifier amplifies the sound of the guitar, and can even distort it.

On Learning to Play Guitar If you decide you want to play guitar, there are a surprising number of strange obstacles in your way. Piano or fiddle lessons are kind of routine. Untold numbers of people are blaming themselves for not getting going or losing interest in their guitar lessons, when what they were being taught was not at all appropriate for what they wanted or needed. Anybody can call themselves a guitar teacher, and they can teach anything they want. They might read music and try to teach you to read music, and they might not.
My Passion For Playing Guitar
As a bass player, I learned to play for the song, and not just play to make myself sound good. It taught me that when working with others, it is much more rewarding to support the team in order to strengthen the overall outcome rather than trying to make yourself look or sound better. It taught me how to work in a group and how to communicate better with others. These skills I learned have become invaluable in my life, and I have learned all of this thanks to my experience with playing the bass guitar. This instrument has shaped me as a person.
I went to YouTube to find an instructional and step-by-step video of how to play the Star Wars theme song. This video showed exactly what note to play and how long to hold the note for similar to Guitar Hero. This seemed like it would be very easy to do and learn how to play. However, the task proved much harder than anticipated when I tried to sight read the music with the notation moving at full speed.
