Short Breaks

Getting a break from caring

Everyone needs a break from caring and the short breaks program is there to help by providing local fun activities for all children with disabilities and/or additional needs. The short breaks program is for all children and young people aged 0-19 who either live in Hampshire (excluding Southampton and Portsmouth) or attend a Hampshire school.

The activity may be run by a specialist provider or it may be that your child would like to attend a mainstream activity with support. Nearly all of the activities have to be paid for as you would need to do for a child without a disability or additional need. However Hampshire short breaks will cover any extra costs that may arise because of a child’s need.
