Getting a Head Start

The Early Years normally covers the first five years in a child’s life which can be very stressful, especially as this is usually when your child gets diagnosed. There is support available, but finding out where to go and who to contact can seem very confusing. This section will hopefully point you in the right direction.
A good starting point is the Early Support programme, which helps parents and carers to be more actively involved in decisions about their child. It brings together all the services and support available from different agencies. This makes it easier for families to co-ordinate their child's health, education and social care needs. For more information go to the government website at : https://www.gov.uk/help-for-disabled-child/overview
